Hello all
Has anyone experience of using a Conextant video card with kdenlive on PCLinuxOS Gnome ? Or
indeed any distro ?

I have a V-stream DV/AV Expert video capture card (not tv, only for
vcr) based on the Conextant CX2388x chip which I have used
successfully in Win XP to capture videos from the vcr, followed by
converting and burning to them dvd with Ulead Video Studio 9.
I would like to be able to do this in PCLos, removing yet another Win
dependancy.

To start with, I used tvtime to see if I could actually receive a
signal from this card. A signal is received using Video source of
Composite2, but there is no sound. The external audio cable is
connected from the card to the sound card.

lspci | grep -i cx238 shows

I have a device /dev/video0 which I assume is the card.

I have tried Cinelerra, Kino and LiVES, but none of the apps pick up the V-stream analog capture card.

It appears that I can setup capture from the card with kdenlive, but all that I get is a green screen.
The kdenlive capture parameters are :
-f oss -i /dev/dsp -acodec mp2 -f video4linux -s 320x240 -r 15 -i /dev/video0 -vcodec mpeg4

Starting kdenlive from a terminal shows
