Panasonic PV-GS320

Mon Nov 29, 2010 10:37 pm
Hi. I am a noobie with kdenlive. I have a Panasonic PV-GS320 camcorder and so far I can't get Kdenlive to capture video. I am running Ubuntu 10.10 and I have the camera connected via firewire. When I hit the connect button on the record monitor tab, the camera make some noise but it fails to connect. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Can you check the settings in Kdenlive Settings dialog, under the "Capture tab"? This should look like the screenshot below. Make sure the Capture format is compatible with your camcorder (DV or HDV).

Hi j-b-m! My settings match your screen shot. I tried the "troubleshooting firewire" from kdenlive.org and still I can't grt the camera to connect. It does attempt to connect but then it disconnects. I am sure I am doing something wrong, I am just a begginer. i would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

Can you get it running using only the dvgrab command line?
