How to change clip folder path

Wed Dec 15, 2010 9:03 pm
I want to change my clip location or change the folder name containing it. If I do so, my Kdenlive project does not contain the clip anymore. I try to edit the path in the clip properties in the project tree but it is not possible.

Any possibility?

Save your project, close Kdenlive. Then rename the folder. Reopen Kdenlive, it should now ask what to do about the missing file. One option is to search for it in another location. You can then give it your new folder.

That works – but I need to do it again every time I restart the program, the new path is not saved to the properties of the clip. Is there any way to do so?

you can use the "replace" clip function (right mouse button on old clip)

Hi !
@bartoloni, it seams that the replacement function doesn't work for me either. New files from are not detected: the first path remains in memory and you cannot change it manually (even with the rather cumbersome technique of completely changing folders).

More precisely:
Right click on the clip
Replace clip
Choose / Path / to / New_File

Result: the following error message
"Unable to open file / Path / to / Old_File"

I will report the bug if it persists.

[I work on Debian testing and KDE 5.17.5, with Kdenlive 20.04]
