Hi everybody and Happy New Year to all!

I'd like to capture some old analogic video through a composite video in/audio in -using the Asus my cinema device on a Ubuntu OS.

Unfortunately in the capture monitor I can see only the firewire and the video4linux and when I try to connect I receive a warning "not connected"

Could you please give me some advises?

Thanks in advance

Claudio

Claudio, from what I've read, I don't think it's possible to capture from that device directly in Kdenlive. But there is an alternative. See this thread from this forum:
http://kdenlive.org/forum/capture-hd-pvr-over-usb

You can also check out this other link from Mad_Sunday on how he does it with a similar card:
http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=55754&start=0

I followed his directions using the same Hauppauge card and it worked but I wasn't happy with the video quality. Your mileage may vary.
