Sony Vegas Projects imported to KdenLive?

I have several Vegas projects I like to port to kdenlive without having to re-edit everything. Sony Vegas is a cool editor, but so extremely **** on memory handling I virtually cannot use it to render projects from MPG2 files to normal AVI. I always get "out of memory", on a 7 Minute piece with almost no effects.

My system is dual boot; Ubuntu 64bit, blazing fast and stable. Kdenlive rocks on it.
Is there a way to port my Vegas Projects to kdenlive to render them there?

I guess not currently...

I think a good feature to add to Kdenlive in future releases would be some kind of EDL support (import/export) to be able to share basic timeline editions with other non-linear editing apps.

Final Cut XML file format http://developer.apple.com/appleapplications/fcpxml.html
or
AAF file format http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Authoring_Format
seem to be good standards for that.

Thanks for listening! :)

Thanks for you answer, gab3d! Unfortunately, I'm not a coder, so can't help with that :-)
