Hello,

I'm new to Kdenlive and just trying to put a few small .mpg clips together. I have the following problem:
I've imported clips, dragged them to the timeline, and they are displayed correctly in the project monitor. But after I start cutting the clips on the timeline and moving them around, at some point usually one of the clips stops showing up in the project monitor. The project monitor will then just be black during that clip (Clip monitor on the other hand plays without any problems).
Sound doesn't have problems at any point either.

I've tried switching different drivers from Configure Playback menu, but without help.

Kdenlive 0.7.8
Acer emachines G725
Ubuntu 10.04, kernel 2.6.32-28-generic
GPU: Intel Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller
Driver: i915, latency=0

Any help is much appreciated,

Thank you.

Ok,

based on

http://www.kdenlive.org/forum/new-kdenlive-video-keeps-going-black-project-monitor

MPEG-1 might be the problem. I'm going to try changing my clips to another format..

Also you can try the "Fix MPEG-1" preset in Kdenlive's Transcode function. Right-click the MPEG-1 in Project Tree, choose Fix MPEG-1. Enable "Add clip to project" and click Start. Then, make sure you use the new clip in the project tree and remove the old one. I can not guarantee it will work, but it seems to for many MPEG-1 files.
