I am using Fedora 14 with kdenlive 0.7.7.1 .
I am very impressed with the functionality of kdenlive, but there are a couple of things that are escaping me. If I cut something out of a video clip (like commercials, for example), it would be helpful to have an option to have everything push back together, rather than leaving a long blank space. (It would also work to have a menu option to put the pieces back together.) This is the default behavior in the commerical "Studio 10", and I am trying to train a user who has used Studio 10 to use kdenlive, and for him it is a deal-breaker if this is not possible. A second nit is that the video window seems to be rather limited in size. No matter how large I made the main window, the video stayed quite small (it got bigger, but there was a limit). If I detach the video into a separate window, it seems to lose synchronization with the timeline, so that if I see something that I want to cut, I am not at all close to the spot where the cut needs to occur. I have posted in General questions rather than feature request on the assumption that these things might actually be possible already, and I just haven't found them. |

O.K. I just found Timeline>Remove Space. That's what I want, I guess. A possibility to default to removing space on a per-project basis would be nice. And in these experiments, the "popped" monitor seems to do what I want. I'll show this to my user…
