Panini projection tool for video

Thu Feb 17, 2011 10:52 am
Hi all,

Tom Sharpless, developper of the panini projection (used in panorama software hugin for example, see http://sourceforge.net/projects/pvqt/) has just released a new tool to correct the perpective of wide angle films using the panini projection. A video of the result is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKVZ7pJdCvw

A description of the projection can be found here : http://hugin.sourceforge.net/docs/manual/The_General_Panini_Projection.html. It is supposed to give pleasing results with architecture images.

This could be a good starting point for a kedenlive plugin for perpective correction. What do you think ?

Cheers,

Seb
