Hi,

It's there a way to trim .MTS videos (without effects, just trimming) without the re-encoding on Kdenlive.. some kind of rewrap sorted videos on a single file?

For Mac there is a software called Final Mate.. It's there something similar for Linux?

Best regards

No, Kdenlive can't do this. You can try Avidemux, but not the stable one. You should try the win32 version (yes, for windows) with "Wine". It supports H.264 and you must use the double arrow to find out the keyframes because you can cut everywhere (due to the "long gop" thing...). But, as every software like this, you can do JUST CUTS otherwise it will render (in case of transitions, effects, ectc.).

Good luck

Thanks Ignazio,

It would be nice to have AVCHD editing without re-encoding. It's very difficult feature this one?

I made a mistake: I wrote "you must use the double arrow to find out the keyframes because you can cut everywhere" instead of "you must use the double arrow to find out the keyframes because you CAN'T cut everywhere".

I'm not technical neither programmer but I can tell you that every $$$ professional/commercial software behaves this way. If you do "cuts only" (no transitions, no effects, no titles, "no everything else") - NO MORE THAN STRAIGHT CUTS - you can have the option to save your footage exactly as it is without reencoding/rendering.
So, believe me, as far as I know, nobody (with any NLE) can edit video footage (exept for "cuts only") without rendering.
If you're alright with "cuts only" you could try the link above (daily update).
