I am brand new to kdenlive and have just started to create my first video.
Ignoring the audio (which is working fine - although may have an effect as I have added to keyframes to adjust the background music track volume as I start the voiceover track), I start with a two second creative commons image fading into my title image. This I have tried to extend this to about the 30 second point, but as it plays it seems to go blank at some point through the video. It also, at the end is trying to dissolve into a full video (which is a .ogv file from recordMyDesktop) I have tried deleting the video track on which this title image is on and inserting it into a new one - that didn't help, and I have tried inserting multiple copies and pushing them together. This just made it worse, with some versions displaying the image and others displaying blank - and even still some changing between blank and not in the middle. I rendered this early part of the project to see what would happen, and the effects seen in the preview window are present in the rendered video. I started to individually delete the clips from the track and have successfully deleted the ones at the beginning and end of the section I am talking about. But I have two clips left in the middle. When I hit delete, I get a little warning bleep, and the message at the bottom left is "Error removing clip at 00:00:19;23 on track 1" . This is one track down from the top (now called video 3) is that is why its called track 1?. What am I doing wrong. Why won't it let me remove the clip? Why is my image sometimes displaying as black? In what might be a related issue, I deleted the track (and then the clips deleted OK) and inserted a new track and loaded the image into it. I then extended the image to the full length necessary. Again it played until about 30 seconds and then went blank. I first tried to cut the track just after the point where it was going wrong and drag the right hand piece away. It would immediately snap back (despite the snapping tool being off) back to the original piece of track. I was however able to delete this right hand bit. I then tried cutting the track before where it went wrong. This time I was able to drag the right hand clip to the right and it didn't spring back. However, any attempt to change its length (in particular after moving it to the right and trying to then extend these piece towards the old part) fails with "Error when resizing clip". I am using Debian Unstable and kdenlive reports itself as version 0.7.8 running on KDE 4.4.5 |

I don't know if this is related or not, but there have been a number of times where I've done some edits, in particular accidentally stretching or dragging something a very long distance on the time line, and when I undo the accidental edit, kdenlive seemed to get "lost" and had issues deleting or moving clips after that point.

Did you try just to save your projekt, end Kdenlive and then restart it again? This helped me.
