Hi
Newbie here so sorry if this is a simple question. I have an mpeg file which I wish to import into kdenlive and then perform simple editing, cutting the beginning and end of the video. My question is how do I save the file? Do I always have to render the file which takes an hour or can I simply save in the original format with my edits preserved? Thanks Kyle |

Kyle,
Not sure if this is the answer you're looking for but... When you click "Save" in Kdenlive you're not changing the original video/audio files you imported. What you are saving is a file that contains references to those video/audio files, how they are used in your project and what portions are used. IOW, it will save the fact that you are only using a portion of the video file. Rendering is the process of creating a single file on your computer combining all the imported files, edits, effects, transitions, etc. Jonas |
