Idea: Grouping effects

Sun Aug 28, 2011 12:40 am
I'm not sure if this is the right forum here.

I have a suggestion concerning the interface of Kdenlive. When you are using many effects, you can enable or disable either one or all effects.

Example: I use cropping, then apply 2 Color Correction effects and saturation. Then I would like to enable and disable only the color effects to see what happens and leave the cropping untouched. So I have to disable all effects and then pick the ones I would like to see in the preview window.

So when there would be an option to group the effects to turn on for example 3 different effects at once it would be much easier to see what happens using these 3 effects.

I don't know if it's difficult to implement. But think about it. It would make the workflow more simple.

Thanks

I *think* this was discussed on the mailing list the other day

Appears to be what you are describing......

In which case, it is in the pipeline.

But, I may have got the wrong end of the stick from the email!

moorsey, not exactly. That screenshot is for an exciting new feature coming where you can mask a filter - currently defined by animate-able rotoscope (drawn shape). What you are seeing are the filters that are being masked versus non-masked.

Would something like an Adjustment Layer be useful in order to group effects, maybe this is achievable already?
