I am new to video editing but have some knowledge. I found instruction to get Kdenlive 0.8 instead of the version that is available with Ubuntu. I am using Ubuntu 10.04. I have some Kdenlive user manual instructions but they vary from the screen I have. Some of the icons are different as well but I am muddling along and have three questions. When creating a transition between clips the instructions say there will be a yellow band in between the clip layers in the time line. I don't have any gaps between my time line layers so the yellow seems to overlap the top edge of the lower clip.
When I add a heading clip to the video, the screen I do the work on is too big overlapping the screen. It will only resize top to bottom not left to right. When I try to use Kednlive 0.8 on Ubuntu 11.04 on some icons hovering the mouse on them just shows a black box, not the icon description. I think this particular bug may be a Ubuntu Bug rather than a Kdenlive issue but thought I would mention it. I'm sure the product is good and I am keen to master it but I am not there yet. Duffy |

The clips must overlap for transitions to work, so drag the videos in track 1 and 2 so they overlap
When adding title clips, there is a zoom slider at the bottom of the screen, so everything should fit The third is an Ubuntu bug. Change your Ubuntu theme and then change it back again, (Preferences > Appearance) or just leave it on Clearlooks, then the tool tips should display |
