I am a noobie of course, but I have used several non linear video editors. All of these have a screen that you can view the video as you are editing. I can't seem to find something similar in Kdenlive so it seems I'm editing blind. Where is the viewer?

Make sure you have "project monitor" checked to on, this should be on by default.
