Hi everyone,
I am new to Kdenlive and I am having difficulty burning a rendered file to disc. I am using a JVC Mini DV camera from which I can capture with no problem, however every time I try to burn the rendered video file to DVD, All that burns to disc appears to be just the shortcut to the file and nothing more, I am using Verbatim DVD+R discs and have already ruined about 20 disc's. I have tried several burning programs, Gnomebaker, K3b, the built in DVD wizard, and brasero with no success, Can anyone please help me as I am nearly tearing my hair out, (What little I have left). I really need your help. signed "~~~~" |

what format are you outputting to from kdenlive? Are you trying to burn as a video DVD (to play in a DVD player for example) or just putting the video file on a disc (to play on another computer for example).
If the file kdenlive is outputting plays OK on your computer before burning, then kdenlive is not at fault, but rather your DVD drive and or software. I have used a few of the burning programs you mentioned without issue |

I don't think the problem is Kdenlive related, and neither a problem with the burning software.
Before adding the video file, check it using ls -l (or "dir", or "properties" in a GUI file manager) to see it's size - a real video file will be MUUUCH larger than a shortcut (symbolic link?). Also, most burning apps have a graphical "space used/remainig" indicator, this should change significantly when you add a big video file, but a small link won't even budge it. I guess, you only need to find where your file really is (ls -l will tell you where a symbolic link is pointing). Also check the "output file" input field in the Kdenlive rendering window. |
