Hello Everyone,
Apologize if this has been discussed. I just walked through the page : http://www.kdenlive.org/rendering-profiles. However could not find pre-sets for 1080p YT upload. Does anyone know best profile settings for YT upload? Please let me know if there is already any pointer to the topic. I have been using 12Mbps, 384kbps AAC, H.264 (mp4) for long time. However I am not happy with 360p quality which default player shows (for some videos, brightness seems reduced after YT post processing). Some YT videos come out great even with 360p quality which even I am interested to achieve. I have been recently using 2pass, 18Mbps. It came quite well however 18Mbps outputs bit larger file which I want to avoid. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Nandakumar |

I got one from one of this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V-6aFDQrn8
The settings mentioned outputs good rendering for YT. Here is time lapse video created with rendering profile mentioned in above link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRo_0Vac8AQ |

Hello. I seek the same answer as the original poster. However, when I render with that profile I have no sound. Any advice? I recently purchased a Canon Rebel T3i to shoot the best 1080P possible for my youtube channel. |

Hello,
If you look at the audio codec used, it is LAME mp3 library (libmp3lame). May be you have not installed libmp3lame in your system. It is available from default repos of the distros. Thanks and Regards, Nandakumar |

I always export my 1080p youtube submissions as the HD 1080p profile, but I go into Advanced and choose MPEG2 as my codec, highest quality (25 mpbs), with 192k mp2 audio. It usually looks good. I can send you some links from my channel if you want to see.

I came across this on Google's help pages which defines their recommended encoding settings for Youtube.

This topic is a bit old, but in case anybody runs into this - here's the YouTube preset I found on the MLT framework project (which is reffered in the render window in Kdenlive):

Thanks for the link. Do you know how to import that mlt preset to kdenlive?

Yes, click on Render, next to 'format' click the 'new profile' button and then in the parameters post the text of the YouTube preset, give it a name and save. Screenshots: https://imgur.com/gallery/2ClqP8k |

@ezras, thanks for information.
But because I store all my youtube videos locally, for now I thought I will better use default settings for rendering. It keeps the size of file smaller. Youtube converts video to its prefered format automatically, so no downside here except a bit waiting. |

This post was made in 2018. When I created the new rendering profile I noticed that there are more selections than what I see in the pictures. Have the codecs changed anymore for 1080p? My computer tries to store at a smaller version but YouTube quality is looking rough. So I am applying your settings, we'll see how it turns out. |
