subtitles colour

Mon Aug 06, 2012 5:24 pm
Hi,

I'm creating a short movie made up of numerous family videos. I added to each video a title, but the problem is that the colour of the subtitle just doesn't stick out as I would like it to. I tried all colours, from white to black and everything in the middle, and it still looks very pale, sometimes like transparent.

I'm new here so I apologize if this question had been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer to it.

Can anyone help me please?
Thank you very much!

Hi,

I would try drawing a rectangle behind the text with a semi transparent background.

First look here for an excellent description of Titles etc:-

Also you could try to give the text an outline of a few pixels to make it stand out more from the background. Use black outline if you have a light background.
