Sorry for interrupting you.

I am using Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS.

Previously, since there was problem while rendering, I installed the newest versions of Kdenlive, MLT and FFmpeg.
I downloaded them from their official websites.

Then, I opened Kdenlive 0.9.4 and imported a clip, it crashed. The problem still existed if importing audio.

Actually I cannot think of other information that you may want. Ask me if you want. Thank you.

Here is the bug report:

Application: kdenlive (0.9.4)
KDE Platform Version: 4.9.5
Qt Version: 4.8.2
Operating System: Linux 3.2.0-36-generic-pae i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS

-- Information about the crash:

The crash can be reproduced every time.

-- Backtrace:
Application: Kdenlive (kdenlive), signal: Segmentation fault

Is this a crash as you load a clip into the project tree ? (Project Tree drop down> Add Clip

If you filter on the http://www.kdenlive.org/mantis/view_all_bug_page.php under crash there are a bunch of resolved defects from Feb 2013 to do with crashes. I don't think any of them are for loading clip into project tree though. But you could try getting the absolute latest kdenlive from sunabs ppa or building it yourself from source using "the build script".

You could also try some of the hints on http://www.kdenlive.org/bug-reports about playing the file you are trying to import using ffmpeg and melt to help narrow down where the problem may be.
