Hi! I'm new and just becoming acquainted with kdenlive
I see that it generates "*.sh.mlt" script files, but I don't see any documentation about it. Moreover, the word "script" occurs heavily in the build/compile context, and search hits on THAT usage of it dominate, and perhaps prevent one from easily finding info on the RENDERING script... what are the *.sh.mlt files for? Can one run them without the GUI, directly with melt/mlt ? How? Reading the script (ocularly) I'm not fully convinced it reflects ALL the parameters in play, but I could be wrong... thanks |

http://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Useful_Information/FAQ
"In effect Kdenlive is frontend to melt - which uses the MLT video framework. The MLT video framework relies on the FFMPEG project. Kdenlive writes sh.mlt XML files that code the edit points and transitions and it then calls /usr/bin/kdenlive_render and /usr/bin/melt to render the video. " Yes you can run render scripts outside kdenlive. If you choose generate script in the render dialog Kdenlive will write a .sh script that you can run. And this script calls a .mlt script that has the rendering info that you authored in Kdenlive. |
