Hi, I'm a new user.
ffmpeg -i foo.avi gives: Input #0, avi, from 'kdenlive/clips/SPOT11_000001.AVI': Metadata: encoder : ankarec Duration: 00:07:07.95, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 4099 kb/s Stream #0:0: Video: mjpeg (MJPG / 0x47504A4D), yuvj420p, 720x480, 26 tbr, 26 tbn, 26 tbc Stream #0:1: Audio: pcm_s16le ([1][0][0][0] / 0x0001), 8000 Hz, mono, s16, 128 kb/s How do i translate this to a suitable "Frame Rate", "Field per second", "Pixel aspect ratio", "Display aspect ratio"? Mplayer tells me the display aspect ratio is 4:3 so that I can key-in. "Size" is 720x480. But "Frame rate" is x/y?? Kdenlive actually shows the frame rate as 26.000364 |

720x480 is NTSC DVD generally. 4:3 DAR. Using an mjpeg codec suggests it's some sort of capture device used so not sure whether its interlaced or progressive. ffmpeg has been known to have issues with mjpeg.
Have you tried mediainfo for better information about the file otherwise I'd start with a NTSC DVD 4:3 progressive project profile, see if you get interlacing lines visible, if so use a 50i 720x480 NTSC project profile and force interlaced flag and top or bottom field order in the clip properties for each clip. It should then deinterlace for playback in kdenlive monitors. |

Hi I did that and when I reload the clip I get a pop-up saying: "...does not match profile". I click okay and the clip appears for editing after thumbnail creation, thanks, I think it should be okay - yes, it's from a Business Portable Recorder 6 - spy pen thingy :) Could you suggest some decent reading resources for stuff like DAR 50i and stuff like that (A book preferably).
