Does it matter which distro is used for KDEnlive? i.e. is there a linux distro made specifically with multimedia in mind? I remember reading something similar in my distro-hopping days, where you are given a choice of software packages during install.
Thanks for ur answer. |

I don't think the distro matters. If you install kdenlive on i.e. ubuntu, all dependencies are installed automatically and it works just as it would on kubuntu. I suppose other distros handle it the same way, no matter which desktop environment is being used. Kdenlive works quite well on a Mac, too.
Only if you are very picky about the consistency of the look & feel and usability you might want to prefer a distro that comes with KDE. |

Use distro where you can find FFMPEG with built-in patented codecs. In some distros such FFMPEG build is located in the special repository (for example, "tainted" for Mageia).
