I've got a load of existing video that is already cut together. I need to decompose it into clips for each shot, bounded by the cut points. Doing this by hand is taking for ever. Is there a kdenlive plugin that will get me at least part of the way? I don't mind if it only gets the cut points right 80% of the time, I can go through and fix things by hand.

Have you tried Automated scene split? Right click on the clip in the Project tree, and select clip jobs.
