Hello,
I'm trying to convert my video from camcorder. No presets provided out of box. Then I trying do it few times, as result very poor result. Kdenlive creates huge files with horrible quality. Source video fullHD with 50fps. After conversion I have horizontal lines( interlacing?). Also picture seems like some peaces has been dropped ( may be interlasing issue to). Camcorder is cheap and provide video little better then smartphone, but still I want save quality as best as possible without use huge file (about 5gb for 40 mins too much my opinion) . I video prepare for play on LG Smart TV. Any help? Have no experience with video transcoding. . Google provide all-in-one windows software without suggestion, with no options but I use linux. |

If you do not want to cut your movies, you might want to check some linux options for transcoding like handbrake, ffmpeg or mencoder. Handbrake has a graphical user interface. Even using command line ffmpeg is not complex, you will find lots of examples in the internet.

This is exactly, that I'm asking for. Options for transcoding file. But camcoder creates separated files ~200 mb each. Basic scene editing is desirable, but not crucial.
Any way if I can use ffmpeg I can do the same thing in the kdenlive? I mean compile options. Is also possible do dynamic quality? Some scenes is dark, and even 720p will be overhead. I just ask about profile for compilation, because out of box for this case no presets. And how to fight with interlacing? Is there addition filters? |
