Hello

New to Kdenlive, running it on iMac 2013 on OSX Mavericks. Installed without problem with the provided instruction - all seems well until I start creating some proxies from some GoPro videos that I took. It crashes (I think always at the same vid - it's not corrupted as far as I can see).
Note that this happens when I select a bunch of vids at the same time:
-if I select one by one and generate the proxies in this way there is no crash
-if I select 10 vids, it works
-if I select 20 vids it crashes

Log inside the dropbox link below.

Please help!

Many thanks in advance.

The crash is within MLT...

You should cross-post on the MLT site.

You said that it loads 10 videos at a time w/out problem but crashes at 20.
Try loading 11, 12, 13, ... videos at a time and find the point where it crashes. Isolate the video that causes the problem. You need to generate more clues in order to help find the source of the problem.

Thanks, posting on MLT website now.

Difficult to pinpoint the video in question as doing them one by one works - rather it seems a bad interaction between certain videos (does what I say make sense? I'm not convinced myself....).

Yes it makes sense. I took note of your mentioning that loading vids one-by-one worked. You said that 10 loaded OK but 20 did not. That's why I suggested you try loading 11, then 12, then 13 videos etc. until you find the point of failure. If, for example, it barfs on the 17th video, then I'd load vid #16 and #17 together to see if there's an interaction between the two. I doubt there is an interaction but you never know until you try. Obtaining all clues that one can helps when fixing bugs.

As Sherlock said, once you eliminate all the things that it can't be, all that's left is what it is...

So trying to generate 12 proxies makes it crash (sometime after the 2nd or 3rd proxy has been generated); trying to generate any 11 or less proxies makes it work fine. Note this applies only to the 12 first files - somehow the other files can randomly generate 15 or 20 proxies in one shot, or sometimes only 10, before a crash occurs.
-> hard to slice and dice more... if it helps here are the first 12 videos (*heavy*... 2.37GB...)

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/hrcfjl80rthua1c/cVka90Fouk

and I'm using the below settings to generate the proxies:
profile HD 1080p 25 fps, 6 video tracks, 2 audio tracks, thumbnails audio+video, proxy clips generated for videos larger than 1000pixels
custom encoding profile: -f mpegts -acodec libmp3lame -ac 2 -ab 128k -ar 48000 -vcodec mpeg2video -g 5 -deinterlace -s 1080x720 -vb 4000k

Also, the MLT devs think this *may* be due to how MLT and Kdenlive interact:
