I really apreciate your help. Well ,I think I (and us!) did it!
The trick was: sudo apt-get install kdelibs5-plugins Shouldn't kdelibs5-plugins be in the dependencies? |

Glad you're got it going!
I actually still use Gnome Classic but if I am going to use any software built around KDE, I take the lazy man's route out and from synaptic I install KDE-full so I've never experienced this problem. Unless, of course, this is something new. Will remember this, just in case. Have fun |

I used Unity desktop and it had kdelibs-bin installed but I learned (the hard way!) kdelibs5-plugins are needed too!

I solved same problem (and notext on menu labels) with:
sudo apt-get install kde-runtime |
Registered users: Bing [Bot], Google [Bot], kde-naveen, Sogou [Bot]
