I have a kdenlive project and I cannot find the blue video selection tool that normally appears at the top of the timeline. I've looked at a fairly high time resolution and still do not see it. I tried to close and reopen the project and close and reopen kdenlive, to no avail. I tried to render a video of the selected zone, and it resulted in what appears to be a single frame, though the resulting video ran for 20 seconds. Help would be greatly appreciated, otherwise it looks like I may need to recreate the entire project - and that took a couple of hours. I'd rather not have to do that. Thanks.

OK, fixed my own problem. I edited the .kdenlive project file in a text editor. I'm not sure which changes fixed the problem, but I changed the following settings and a nice big render zone selection tool appeared when I reopened the project:

zonein="0"
zoneout="5000"
renderzone="5000"
renderguide="1"
