Lagy preview - performance

Wed Sep 03, 2014 11:48 am
Recently I try to switch to Linux from Windows. Ive installed Kubuntu 14.04, without any issues and then installed KDENLIVE.

I want to edit files from my GoPRO Hero 2, files are 1080p, 29,97fps.

Adding clip to the timeline is without issue. Aslo the playback preview of the original file is OK. Then I try to add another clip with transition or even the basic subtitle clip over the current video and the preview was very laggy.

After short search ive build proxy files. But preview performance of transformations or the subptitle clip over the video did not improve... :'(

Any ideas hot to improve?

Computer is based on Intel i5 with 4GB RAM.

(please consider I am Linux BFU) o)

You can try to change the proxy clips properties. Some may help you to enhance performances.

If you are using the Affine transition, playback tends to be laggy. If you use Composite it should be stuttering less. Which one do you use?
