I've recently switched to a new computer and need to reinstall Linux. I mostly use Linux for video editing in Kdenlive, and my experiences with that have been less than stellar in the past. I'm constantly running into bugs where the rendering process crashes or the sound is off. It seems that most of these issues are related to some distros having bugged/older versions of some dependencies. So with all that in mind, what would be the very best Linux distro to install for use with Kdenlive?

Ubuntu/Kubutu 14.04 LTS is what I'm running. I build from source though....

Ubuntu 14.04 is what I had before (not built from source, though). I wasn't able to render because the render would always freeze halfway through.

Running kdenlive on Archlinux from official repos is showing none of the problems reported here so often: Issues to wrong or outdated libraries. Updates come 1-3 days after severe bugfixes or a new version of kdenlive. I am absolutely happy with that.
