Missing contents on website: Tutorials and stickers

On 14 Jan I already wrote a mail to webmaster@kdenlive.org regarding the outdated links for the stickers, but got no answer. Another thread already covers that, but it has not been resolved.

However, I stumbled over the tutorials section with lots of links and description, but I found no link, embeded content or anything that points me to a tutorial? What am I missing here? I also looked the source code but couldn't find any hint that may point to a content.

Hello,

We know about the site problems but it is not our priority, focusing on development, but we should take the time...
For a tutorial you have the manual intro:
https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/QuickStart

Hello,

Can the tutorials be found elsewhere?

How is it possible to help in improving the website? Except for reporting the problems, as we already do.

Thanks for that offer !

I think it would be better that you subscribed to our mailing list, that projects owners consult more reliably than forums:
https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdenlive
then discuss with ttguy & jbm who are also admins and updated the site after the move to KDE infrastructure.

For the moment we are focused at releasing our 1st Qt5 version (with KDE Applications 15.04), but within few weeks we should be more available to discuss this topic (which we could set as a future IRC discussion point).

Sebix,
Thanks for pointing out this issue. It looks like the descriptions of the tutorials are there but the links to the actual videos are missing. Is this what you are seeing?
I am guessing that the links went missing due to a techncial glitch durring a website migration process.

I dunno if we can recover this data. We are moving more towards documentation on the KDE userbase site at https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/. This is where the manual now resides.

I have taken the first step to try and locate the tutorials that were previoulsy indexed at https://kdenlive.org/tutorial/ and put them at

https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Tutorials

Because, yes I would expect most of the tutorials to be available elsewhere because the kdenlive.org site was just indexing videos that were hosted elsewhere.

So I was for example able to find what I strongly think was the first tutorial "Basic Introduction to Kdenlive nixiepixel" and have put this at https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Tutorials.

So if you had the inclination to help you could see if you could track down other tutorials on the list and index them on the userbase.kde.org page !!

The kdenlive.org page says the videos are on BlipTV but a lot were actually on youtube or maybe some on Vimeo.

So we can find where the tutorials used to point to in the web archive

https://web.archive.org/web/20120408174 ... g/tutorial

Unfortunately it would appear blip.tv that was hosting most of them does not have them any more.

So the best bet might be just to put the best ones we can find on youtube up on the userbase wiki.

JBM - you might still have copies of things like Jbm-KdenliveAnimateImagesOverVideo516.flv which you could publish to youtube.
