New logo?

Mon Mar 02, 2015 2:42 pm
Hi! First of, congratulations to the Kdenlive team for all the hard work. Since Kdenlive is becoming a KDE application for the 15.04 release, what about asking the visual design group for a new "breeze"logo? The current one looks a little old.

Thank you for your compliments and suggestion. But, there's only so much we developer's can do. Is this something you can help us out with? We're looking for people to fill various roles in the Kdenlive community as it grows.

The idea is just to ask designers from KDE VDG to think of it...
I'm personally totally open to propositions! I've never found our logo very clear to understand.

Unfortunately I don't have time to offer. I'm in school and my days are long. What I can do is provide some feedback now and then.

About the logo. The only thing you would have to do is make a post in the visual design group forum asking for help. I could do it myself, but it would be better if the request comes from a developer.

To me, the Kdenlive logo looks like a satellite, which is kind of cool :)

The current logo: http://i.imgur.com/3UChD9R.png ( http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kdenlive.git ... e25fefed28 )

An old logo: http://i.imgur.com/FKide3Q.png ( http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File: ... e_logo.svg )

I wouldn't mind if the colors would be a bit nicer and the logo would be improved as to being visible on dark and bright backgrounds.

As for a redesign, it might not be evident why one would be needed. Perhaps you can make that point to devs or visual design team (perhaps a dev would have time to give you their blessing if you can find a way to reach them).
