You only ran into 6? You must be creating a fairly simple project. As much as I love Kdenlive's interface, stability and being bug free, are not it's strong suit. I totally understand that much of the code became outdated and overly complex over the years, and look forward to the refactored version making life easier on the devs. I'll definitely be trying and reporting bugs when the new version hits the repos.
Until then, save early and save often. I don't say any of this to slight the devs. I know that this is a project that pulls together cutting edge code from a number of highly complex other projects like FFMPEG, KDE Frameworks and MLT. Even as someone who feels that stability should be championed before any other feature in Kdenlive, I fully support the refactoring in the hope that this will help untangle some of the difficulties in debugging. I have nothing but admiration for the brave souls who dare dive in and tame the Kdenlive codebase. |
