motion detect

Is there anyway to use kdenlive to look through a video of a mostly static scene and highlight sections where there is movement, by tagging them in some way?
If not, is there any way of saving each frame in to a series of still pictures?

You can render to a picture sequence. Just browse the destination drop down in the Sender dialog.

I'm presuming you mean the "Render" dialogue. All I get in the Destination drop down is places to put the file. The box that has the list of formats "Avi, MP4 etc.) also doesn't seem to have a picture sequence format.

Oh... Maybe there was one before. A while ago I tried to solve the same problem and even with 15.08 I have the same naming issue as described here viewtopic.php?f=272&t=115651&p=334125&hilit=png+sequence+kdenlive#p334125

Thanks, I did eventually find how to do stills in a roundabout way.
In the Render menu, just under where you type in a file name is an icon that looks like a piece of paper with a green + , click that.
Put the extension as png and in the parameter box put vcodec=png aspect=@dar
Then click OK and in the file name box put _%06d on the end of the filename, and put a directory in earlier in the filename unless you want them thrown in with your other files.
Then render.

I got most of that from another query once I managed to get a suitable search term.

Now I just have to download imagemajick and see if I can get it to compare them all.
