Hello everybody,

After upgrading from Ubuntu 15.04 to 15.10 I also got an update to kdenlive to the 15.08 version. This has come with loads of problems.

  • I'm now getting this warning, which, from what I read on the net, is not as harmless as it sounds.
    Code: Select all
[swscaler @ 0x7f5a17d8f8e0] Warning: data is not aligned! This can lead to a speedloss

  • Most of the guides have just disappeared from the timeline, leaving behind just three of them in the wrong place. This, despite the fact kdenlive at startup prints the following text on the console.
    Code: Select all
    ***********
    FOUND GUIDES:  46
    **********

  • Audio and video are de-synchronized, the cuts I've made to the clips seem to have gone wrong: their lenght has been keept intact, but they don't match the portion of audio and video they used to match in the previous version any longer.
  • Realtime rendering has become a lot slower, despite using proxy files.

Has anybody else encountered all these issues? Since I really need to get the job done on the project I was woring on, is there any way I can downgrade to the previous version?

hey man 15.04 and 15.08 have had a fair share of bugs which 15.12 version (to be released tomorrow) seems to fix.
https://kdenlive.org/node/9449

try to install it:

Hey there Farid, thanks for your reply. :)

I did actually try 15.12 first, using the kdenlive-testing ppa, but I got exactly the results I described above, therefore I removed that ppa from the list of repositories and installed the non-testing one, with the results you could read.

I'll wait for the official release, then, and try it again. :) Thanks.

It's like Xmas and New Year: everyone celebrates it according to their own community calendar and timezone. In our case, throw in distro and third-party packager. Et voilá: everyone can celebrate whenever they feel so inclinded... o)
