As you can see in the screenshot, the Favorite locations, as well as the higher levels of my filesystem within the dropdown are all greyed out. This means each time I want to save a new file I've got to manually navigate through my tree till I get to the correct folder. This will also need to happen if I accidentally go to the wrong folder – no going one step back.
