We've all experienced slow, choppy playback on most FLOSS video editors. Proprietary ones like Lightworks, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc. have nearly lossless playback, in part, to their utilization of processing hardware: CPU cores and GPU's available.
I'd like to open up this topic in order to consider, brainstorm, and possibly plan out a course to improve GPU processing for Kdenlive so that this kind of playback processing power can be available as the standard, fresh out of the box. I'm not a developer at all, which is why I'm looking to the community to see if we can't see how this can happen. All thoughts & ideas are welcome.

Unfortunately, it does not seem to arouse much interest.
If you want 100% GPU accelerated video editing, you can give MachinTruc a try. https://github.com/hftom/MachinTruc |
