I'm using kdenlive 15.12.2 which is really good. But I'm missing the useful information how often a clip is used in the current project (like in kdenlive 0.9.8 )

It has come back in the 15.13 development series. You may either wait for next stable 16.04 to appear in your distro in April, or you may install a development version. However, any project edited with a recent development version needs to upgrade your project and then you cannot edit it anymore in 15.12.x or earlier.
