Greetings:

I am having a bit of a problem archiving a project. The project renders fine and all clips are present. However, when I try to archive it, I get two error messages. The first says that it can't create the directory and the second is that it says Malformed URL for each of the clips, even though the clips are there and at the correct path. I tried selecting directories in several locations, both on the main drive and on an external drive. Any ideas? Thanks!

MOSTLY SOLVED -- It appears that the answer is to make sure the tar.gz box is checked and that the directory already exists. However, when extracting and opening the archive, I had to point the project document to the new folders created. Is this normal behavior? I was expecting the process to automatically change the file paths.

Hi all,

I'm having the same problem and wonder if there are any real solutions around.

Issues:

1. Archiving without the tar.gz box checked fails due to the mysterious error messages:

Code: Select all
"Cannot create directory /mnt/.../videos"
   "Cannot create directory /mnt/.../images"
   "Cannot create directory /mnt/.../sounds"

and

Code: Select all
"Malformed URL /mnt/..."

for any file in the project. Of course all permission are fine and all URLs are valid.

2. Archiving with the tar.gz box checked works, BUT neither opening nor extracting the file with kdenlive works, error message:

Code: Select all
"Cannot open archive file /mnt/...tar.gz".

3. The archive file can be extracted by hand, but the paths in the project file still point to the old paths, and not, as expected, to /videos, /sounds and /images.

Any suggestions?!

kdenlive Version 16.08.2 in Ubuntu 16.04
KDE Frameworks 5.18.0
Qt 5.5.1 (built against 5.5.1)
