Preview screen broken.

Tue Jul 05, 2016 7:18 pm
When I try to play clips, the preview screen does not update correctly and show them.
The sound is fine, but the visual lags, and skips.

I am running the latest version on Ubuntu.

This could be related to the footage and hardware you own. If it is 4K or FullHD on old hardware this might happen. A solution would be to use proxy files.

It is regular clips, 720p and 480p, also, I have 16GB ram, a decent graphics card, and quad core CPU.

Ok, which version of Kdenlive and MLT are you using?

Also what is your system?

open a terminal and type:

Code: Select all
melt -version

Post your result here. MLT is the framework which Kdenlive uses to function.

I am editing 1080p footage comfortably without any lags. Where did you get this footage from? Maybe if you post it somewhere we can test it.

Cheers

And about the footage, I am just using images, and some blender rendered clips, but the images are not even updating.

I cannot reproduce. I remember in older versions of kdenlive this used to happen with images whenevr i had a text or something else composited. I even tried using 4000px wide images but it played smoothly.
