Extracting a frame

hey all I used to use extract a frame for my youtube thumbnails. well since this last GREAT upgrade/update when i attempt to save it it says it did but then when I go to the file where I told it to save to It is not there! any idea what might be the issue or is it a problem with the program? thanks for any help or suggestions!

I had exactly this problem and found the solution for me was to add the file extension (in this case .png) to the filename in the 'save to' dialogue box. That solved it for me anyway, hope it does for you!

The save method of QImage tries to guess the format from the suffix, but fails if there is no suffix.
This could be fixed in the code by forcing the files to be png:

Yes adding the .png or .jpg after naming has worked just didn't think it needed to be done since the last one did it automatically. Thank you for your help

Dear all,

Running Kdenlive on 16.04 (Linux (x86_64) release 4.4.0-57-generic) with XFCE 4.12 and catalyst drivers
Adding 'png' extension doesn't work - I always get a white background image.
