vid.stab on Ubuntu 16.04

Tue Sep 13, 2016 8:59 am
I'm trying to get stabilization working on Ubuntu 16.04. I have added the kdenlive-stable PPA, and installed kdenlive, libvidstab, and melt from there.

However, kdenlive onlys shows videostab2 in the Stabilize menu. It doesn't appear to work; after processing, it creates a .mlt file and fails to import the stabilized clip back into the project, showing an "Invalid clip" error. From the command line, melt only lists the videostab and videostab2 filters.

I found a bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366261.

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting this working, or any pointers on how to investigate further?
