which version of kdenlive are you running? 16.08.1?
What is the exact name of the effect you are trying to use? Can you provide a screenshot?

The version is 16.08.1 on Ubuntu Studio 16.04
The exact name of the effect is Position & Zoom.

With the last update of frei0r plugins (right today) it seems to work... but (as usual) when I start to use effect the window monitor is blank (like in the screenshot).

Thank you for answer ;)

I noticed this too - it was just about working in 16.08.0 (a few oddities around keyframes vs syncing from the start of the clip or the in point), but updating 16.08.1 broke my project so my Pans no longer worked and wouldn't it let me create new ones. Sorry to say, I gave up at that point.

The Position and Zoom feature has also stopped working for me running the latest Kdenlive version: 16.04.2 on Fedora 24. It was working in the previous versions.

I add keyframes, change the clips' zoom and position, but it doesn't work. The preview shows the red boarder and white dot in the middle. The white dot moves, but the actual video clip doesn't.

I will have to file a bug report. This is crucial to my video workflow.

I believe the bug is in frei0r 1.5, we recently fixed it, but there is no official release.
We packaged it for ubuntu on PPA.
See if you can get a package update for fedora, or build it yourself...

Thanks anyway.

So to correct my previous post -I was actually running Kdenlive version 16.08.1. It is version 16.08.1 that breaks the Position and Zoom plugin for me.

I downgraded to version 16.04.2 and the plugin works again. Unfortunately, the large project I was working is incompatible with the downgraded version. So... I either wait for an update or start my project all over again :(

You may try to manually downgrade the document version: copy your project file and open it with a text editor, and decrement the value of the field:
<property name="kdenlive:docproperties.version">0.XX</property>
You may loose a transition here and there but can keep most of your work
(we should offer the option to do so in the program...)

Thank you!
I am looking forward to the fix hitting Fedora's RPM Fusion repos :)

Unfortunately, this bug still isn't fixed. I just upgraded to Fedora 25 running 16.08.2 and the same thing happens:
I add keyframes, change the clips' zoom and position, but it doesn't work. The preview shows the red boarder and white dot in the middle. The white dot moves, but the actual video clip doesn't.
