For a while I could at least record video but not audio in Kdenlive with my 12 yo. Logitech QuickCam Pro VGA camera...no audio.

In fact, here's a short 1 min. test video I made before the Kdenlive 16.08.3 gave me an error saying...

"Capture crashed. Please check your parameters"

I have since reinstalled Fedora 24...Also I am aware that webcams use Video4Linux2 which is installed. I have ffmpeg libraries installed.

Why would it work one day and then stop working the next? And another thing is that when I plug in the webcam, the LED light is on to signify that it is working, but really should only turn ON when I'm recording. It only turns OFF now when I unplug the device.

I fixed it, I think, by using a lower res. QVGA profile, 29.97 fps instead of the 720p @ 60 fps.

I made a video to prove it works now.

However, I really should purchase another webcam because as I said in my video, the resolution can only do a maximum of 640 x 480 @ 15 fps (in Kdenlive), so until I get something better I must stick with 320 x 240p @ 29.97 fps. It's USB 1.1 so not that fast. Probably should also invest in an external (to the cam) mic.

Having troubles again.

Last night I had everything working...

Kdenlive video and audio and audio while recording in headphones.

Now, I get video in Kdenlive and no audio.

I did an update to openh264-libs 64-bit and thought that may have been it...downgraded from ver. 1.60 to 1.52...But no change.

Also updated gstreamer1-plugin-open264, not sure if that would cause audio to not work in the webcam in Kdenlive.

Mic. audio in the ALSA mixer shows the mic. in the webcam is ON and working and the built-in mic. on my laptop is OFF, as it was when everything was working.

Works in facebook though, but I cannot hear myself while recording.
