Hi all,
On my up-to-date Ubuntu 14.04 I have tried Kdenlive using the lastest Appimage version (16.12.2). I have had proxi view activated and only had two short 1080p files in my project plus a simple transition. 'htop' was showing that my 2 physical cores (4 threads) were close to the 100% upon playback in Kdenlive. My question is, is that normal? Does the OpenGL message have anything to do with it? Do the clips show up with a "P" in the thumbnail in the project tree? Then a proxy has been created.
Backgroupd of the question: If you switch to proxies after adding the clips you have to create proxies manually (right click clip and select "Proxy Clip". |

The 'p' is not shown. Also, when I try to manually convert the clips to proxy clips via 'right click' --> 'proxy clip', the proxy clip option is greyed out, hence I can't choose this option. ..Do I need a different project setting?

You need to enable proxies in your project settings, at the bottom of the project settings. Then you will be able to create proxy files.

I did activate proxy clips in the project settings. This was the first thing I did after creating this project. However, the right mouse click --> 'Proxy Clip' option remains greyed out. Shall I file a bug report?

This is the third time i see this kind of doubt... should we do something about it? Maybe write as post in the toolbox? This is my answer from another post:
