New PC hardware advice

Wed May 03, 2017 9:33 am
Hi everyone.
My current PC is way too slow to show kdenlive preview, when effects gets added. So, I'm in the process of deciding what hardware to buy for a new PC.
I've settled on a motherboard with Z270 chipset (ASUS PRIME Z270-A).

What graphic adapter is recommended? All the cards I look at, are marketed as gaming cards, which kind of turns me off. I've almost settled on an Nvidia 1060 based card.
Comments or recommendations are appreciated.

That subject you link to is not specific about graphic adapters.

You are right, I had some implicit thoughts: The (4 years old) HD4000 onboard GPU from intel does its' job very well. You will not need a dedicated graphics adapter for kdenlive. There is no GPU rendering and today you will need to use proxy files when it comes to transitions and multiple effects anyway.
