Hello

I have Kdenlive 17.04.1 + Melt 6.5.0 (with official KDE repository) on Ubuntu Studio 16.04 (+ KXStudio Repos).
Today, after updating my system Kdenlive crashes immediately after I open it.
If I execute it from a terminal, (the program shows briefly but crashes immediately) I get the next error message:

Code: Select all
diego@SIGILAB-US16:~$ kdenlive
no more csLADSPA plugins
Shortcut for action  "rename" "Rename" set with QAction::setShortcut()! Use KActionCollection::setDefaultShortcut(s) instead.
Removing cache at "/home/diego/.cache/kdenlive-thumbs.kcache"
Failed to create OpenGL context for format QSurfaceFormat(version 2.0, options QFlags(), depthBufferSize 24, redBufferSize -1, greenBufferSize -1, blueBufferSize -1, alphaBufferSize -1, stencilBufferSize 8, samples -1, swapBehavior 2, swapInterval 1, profile  0)
Aborted (core dumped)

I search a little bit about it, but i'm not sure if it is related to this post (the other ones I find are about QT developers): https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?t=138454 and https://www.mail-archive.com/ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com/msg5167469.html

So... I need to disable the Nvidia Driver to use Kdenlive and wait for an update? :/

I had a similar problem, reinstalled (actually by recompile of source) mlt with some of its dependencies updated and reinstalled latest Kdenlive. Now working again.

Reinstalling doesn't seems to work; but luckily after last system update the problem has gone :)
