Kdenlive is unable to capture audio or video in my computer and doesn't recognize my microphone or any other device.
Here are 2 screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/hpKWq Here is the log I get:
However, when I use ffmpeg to list my devices as stated here: https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Capture/Desktop#Windows
It shows my devices correctly. Thanks in advance for any help! |

It doesn't work for me either - maybe it just isn't fully implemented in Windows yet.
Anyway, an excellent program for capture (desktop, webcam, games) is Open Broadcaster. It's completely free and easy to use. You can get it here: https://obsproject.com/ |

So it is not just Audio, but also Video which won't be captured. I think the solution is fairly easy, because Kdenlive comes bundled with ffmpeg, then just modify the kden caputre settings to use ffmpeg -dshow to popuate the drop-down boxes and run the cmomand. (And instead of the checkbox for "Capture video (Video4Linux2)" it would say "Capute video (dshow)" and similarly "Capture audio (dshow)" instead of alsa.
I'd be willing to do this sort of fix cause seems pretty easy, and I'm used to Qt programming. |

Hallo ericfontaine. Sorry for late replay. You are very welcome to help. For the Audio capture we have a task here already: https://phabricator.kde.org/T9292 (Rewrite audio capture and maybe video capture). Here a bug about the same: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397813.
For further communication you can join by the mailing list (https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdenlive) or even more easy by https://t.me/kdenlive (linked to IRC) or direct the https://t.me/kdenlive_dev. |

it's only a Windows issue? looking at the Mardelle task... seems related to main Kdenlive sources (Linux also affected..) |
