gray Project Monitor after update

Fri Aug 04, 2017 6:33 am
Hey, all. I just updated to kdenlive 17.04.3 on Ubuntu (studio) and everything seems to be working except for the project monitor won't show my playing video. however, the sound still plays and everything else seems to work. I am wondering how to fix this OR how do I roll back to my last version that was working fine even though I was dealing with the bugs. at least I could edit a video. I have been using keen live weekly for 2.5 years every day and not had this issue before.
please let me know if you know how to fix this issue or how to roll back or install an older version thanks in advance

what would the full command be to do this? I also tried to roll back in synaptic package manager but it is putting a ! by one of the packages and says could not apply changes fix broken packages first. so this might be why I'm seeing a gray screen. any idea how to fix it?
