I use windows and have downloaded the needed extension to run Kden on windows.

My version of Kdenlive does not seem to have a config file. I can run the program fine, edit and cut just perfectly (it is an utterly lovely software and I just adore it) but rendering and exporting doesn't work.

I have the melt program, but I can't refer Kdenlive to it and it doesn't seem to accept or respond to anything regarding the folder.

All other solutions to similar problems involved using the config file, but there is no such file.
yes I have show hidden files and folders on, it doesn't seem to show up.

Please, does someone know what I can do? this is the only good editing software I can find and it would be such a shame not to be able to export the work I put into editing.

if you don't see nothing in kdenlive configuration , change your theme, sometimes fonts and background may have the same color

Hello, this is the same person who made the thread (had an issue with login.)

I don't mean that I don't see anything in the configuration file, I mean that there is no configuration file at all.
At least not that I have been able to find.


I followed the bugfix you sent, but now when I try to export something it does it instantly, with no file actually being made.

I set up a new copy of Kdenlive and made sure the environment connected to the right files.

for example mlt profiles are lead to: /Kdenlive-17.08.1/share/mlt/profiles
and melt is led to: /Kdenlive-17.08.1/share/melt.exe
And like the bugfix suggested I moved the melt.exe to the share folder.

I am a bit confused, and still I find no config file.

I have made some tries because finally i encounted your issue.
I write some docs and get kdenlive running and rendering correctly, read document below
