link effect parameter to audio level

Thu Nov 16, 2017 11:58 am
hello everyone,

i've been using kdenlive for a couple of years on adn off, now, & there's one thing i was always wondering: is there a way to link an effect parameter to the audio level of a clip? can i, for example, make a clip's brightness flicker in sny with an audio clip's volume?

thanks for your time.

Hello,
I don't know of an automated way of doing this at the moment.
There is a "dance" effect that affects video as a function of audio, but I never tried it.
It should be possible to do it at least in two pass, as for the motion tracking or mask effects, that calculate keyframes in a 1st analysis and then import these data for the final pass, but this doesn't exist yet with audio analysis.
Good idea for future developments (but we should find someone to code it)!

a generic sort of modular solution would be pretty nifty, but i see your point regarding manpower :-)
