1) When I hover my cursor over a button, the text that pops up is white on a yellow background. Why? How do I fix it?

2) How do I simply cut an MP4 and then save the newly cut MP4 as an MP4?

1) Try a different design or style. Or report as a "bug".
2) Cut the MP4 as you wish and then render out as MP4. To do this you must install FFMPEG.

Hello elsalvador,

1) You didn't say which DE (Desktop Environment) you are using. I was using Mint with Cinnamon DE and found the Default Breeze Theme was the only thing that worked properly for me since Cinnamon is based on the Gnome DE. I recently upgraded to KDE Neon and now all themes work properly.
2) Basic editing: Drag clip to track Video 1. Use Razor Tool to cut clip in the appropriate places. Delete unwanted portions. Right-click on gaps and select Remove. Select Render from top Menu bar. In the dialog select MP4.
